Current Work Area(s)
The good news is that the main line lacks only a few feet of being completed.  The bad news is that all of those few feet are over bridges.  We have found that bridges take a lot of time.  Currently we are working on two double track through truss bridges in Galveston, Texas.  There is a lot of scenery prep work that has to be done before the bridge and track go in.  As the photos show, first the under bridge terrain and abutments go in, followed by the deck and the bridge track.  Soon the remainder of the bridge will be added.  Water goes in last.
Another area in work is on the penninsula where we are experimenting with drywall shims to form the support lattice for some mountainous terrain.  Here we are also checking out some ideas on tunnel portal installation.  Clearances are checked with available rolling stock.
What's next...
The Galveston bridge should be finished tomorrow.  The next bridge is a wooden trestle spanning the Pecos River between Santa Rosa and Muleshoe.  The canyon is roughed in and ready for the under bridge scenery to start.
FLASH:  Its done!!!  6/18/06
